Belle Isle Information
Originally named Bull Isle; Belle Isle is an artificial island that is similar to the Sunset Islands neighborhood. Before the neighborhood became a beautiful residential community, Belle Isle was a rough mangrove hammock along the north of Biscayne Bay.
Major developments through the partnership of John Collins and Carl Fisher paved the way for Belle Isle to become a sought after real estate destination.
The construction of the Collins Canal gave the island its bigger land mass and distinctive shape. The former mangrove hammock was platted into parcels of land to ideal for single family homes.
Due to its direct access to the Miami Beach neighborhood, Belle Isle has become one of the reputable enclaves for millionaires including Joseph Adams who owns a sprawling estate on the southeast area of Belle Isle.
The Belle Isle Residents Association, which was established in 2004, is a community board that works together to enhance the quality of life of Belle Isle residents. They are the ones responsible for the community’s security, traffic control, parking, noise control, community beautification, cleanliness of open spaces and other activities within the Belle Isle community.
