Palmetto Estates Information

Centrally located within Miami, the community of Palmetto Estates is bordered by Cutler and Palmetto Bay to the east; Kendall to the north and West Perrine, South Miami Heights and Cutler Bay to the south.

The urban neighborhood is home to a large percentage of residents with Jamaican and Cuban ancestry – about 40% of the population is made up of residents from Cuban descent.

Palmetto Estates is regarded as a college-friendly community where parents often choose to enroll their kids. The neighborhood is relatively walkable, has low crime rate and a diverse mix of college students and lots of services and local amenities that cater college students – a formula perfect for those who want to provide their kids a comfortable environment conducive for studying and making a life.

The community is also close to many of Miami’s vibrant and affluent neighborhoods such as Pinecrest and Coconut Grove. Miami International Airport and the American Airlines Arena are both a short drive away from the neighborhood.

While Palmetto Estates is not a waterfront community, residents are only a few minutes away from the pristine beaches of Miami Beach.

Those who have the “need for speed” can simply head out to the Homestead-Miami Speedway at the Homestead Base neighborhood.

Within a short drive from the homes of Palmetto Estates are the Everglades and Biscayne National Parks.

Palmetto Estates’ real estate is largely made up of three- to five-bedroom single family homes and apartment complexes. Most of them were built from the 1970s to 1990s but there are also a number of older homes dating from the 1940s.
