Miami Shores is a village in the Miami-Dade County. The village was originally a Biscayne neighborhood of the City of Miami until it was incorporated in 1932.

The Neighborhood

The neighborhood is bounded by Biscayne Park to the north, El Portal to the south, Pinewood to the west and the waters of Biscayne Bay to the east.

Just across the Biscayne Bay are the exclusive and flourishing golf communities of Indian Creek and Normandy Shores.

The community serves as a residential haven for those who are employed or have businesses in the Greater Miami.

It also serves as home to a large number of retirees who want to enjoy the South Florida lifestyle in a small town setting, while still having easy access to the city.

The village has its own community-oriented police department and the Parks Division, which serves as the main agency that maintain the landscaping of the parks and other non-recreational facilities within the neighborhood.

Things To Do

The village offers its residents plenty of recreational centers within its borders. The community has Miami Theater Center where residents can watch cultural shows. There is also the Miami Shores Country Club, which features tennis and aquatic centers. The neighborhood also has its own Community Center where every resident is welcome to spend some quality time.

Nearby, residents also have a wide range of activities and places that they can explore. Quayside Marina is just outside the neighborhood, while Pelican Harbour Marina is just a little south of the community.

The newly opened Miami Ironside is also a little south of the Miami Shores.
