Medley town encompasses a total land area of 8 square miles in the northwest portion of the Miami-Dade County. It is regarded as an industrial community that is densely populated by both locals and visitors.
It is bounded by Hialeah Gardens and Hialeah to its northeast, Miami Springs to its southeast and by several unincorporated cities of the county.
Medley is strategically located to be accessible to most types of transport. The busy Miami International Airport is about three miles southeast of the town, while the Opa-Locka Executive Airport is located six miles northeast.
Residents of Medley also have direct access to major thoroughfares including the Palmetto Expressway, US-27, Homestead Extension of Florida Turnpike and NW 74th Street, which brings people to and from the city of Hialeah.
The small town of Medley is also home to the Metro Rail Palmetto Station, which greatly contributes in the flourishing business industry of the town.
It may be a little town, but Medley offers a myriad of services for the convenience of its residents. They have a Utilities and Stormwater Department that manages waters supply and sewer maintenance; Public Works Department in charge of the road maintenance, solid waste collection and disposal and park maintenance and a Code Enforcement Department that enforces all state-mandated codes.
With the many industrial businesses in the community, Medley remains to be one of the most significant employment districts in Miami.
Medley locals have access to an array of activities within its town and around its neighboring cities as well. The town is home to K1 Speed, an amusement park that caters to both the young and the old who want to experience how it is to drive a go kart.
Residents can also visit the lush greenery in the parks of the nearby Hialeah and Hialeah Gardens. While there, they can also do a little shopping at the Westland Mall.
