Isle of Normandy Miami is an island located in within the neighborhood of North Beach. It is a man-made island along Biscayne Bay’s eastern shore. The island is centrally located from Downtown and Miami Beach, making it a desirable neighborhood to live in.

The Neighborhood

Located along the eastern shore of Biscayne Bay, Isle of Normandy or Normandy Isle used to be a swampy land mass west of 71st Street. The neighborhood was a result of the 1929 dredging initiated by Henry Levy, who also took part in the creation of the 79th Street Causeway, which connects it with North Bay Village and Downtown Miami.

Normandy Shores, La Gorce Island, Atlantic Heights and Park View Island are all within short driving distance from the neighborhood.

Isle of Normandy Miami has Bal Harbour to the northeast and South Beach to the south, where many of Miami’s nightlife, dining and shopping destinations are.

The coastal community is also within proximity of the 18-hole Normandy Shores Golf Course and is home to the Normandy Isle Park and Pool, which boasts of an Olympic size pool, basketball courts, tot lot, pavilion and soccer field.

Miami International Airport is about 24 minutes away from the neighborhood, while Downtown, South Beach and American Airlines Arena are all within 20 minutes from Isle of Normandy Miami. Bal Harbour Shops, an upscale shopping center in Bal Harbour, is just a good 10 minutes away.Isle of Normandy

Things To Do

71st Street, the neighborhood’s main street has many shops and restaurants that residents enjoy. Every weekend, the neighborhood also hosts a family-friendly small farmers’ market. Some of the restaurants within the community are Katana, Gol Italian Restaurant, Las Vacas Garden Argentine Steakhouse, Salon Canton and East Ocean.

Isle of Normandy also has shops including Family Dollar, Abbott Florist, Walgreens, Sabor Tropical Supermarket and JB Bike Shop.

The schools assigned to the neighborhood include Treasure Island Elementary School, Nautilus Middle School and Miami Beach Senior High School.
