This waterfront community is the easternmost of the island communities in the area before the Intracoastal Waterway and is one that has mostly single family residences on it. It does have a few multi-unit structures on its, most of which are upscale and luxurious.
This community is loved by its residents for a number of reasons, one of which is its closeness to the water and the access that people have to the intracoastal as well as the ocean from here. They also love the fact that it is very walkable, is great for families, allows people a lot of privacy, and is very quiet as well as safe. It is also considered a prime location due to the fact that it is a short distance from two of the most popular locales in the city, Las Olas Boulevard and the beach.
Considered a waterfront neighborhood, most if not all of the homes here come with a private boat dock where people can easily sail from to get around the city. Fort Lauderdale after all is called the Venice of America and this network of canals can be traversed by anyone with a boat. This is why the community and the city itself is a haven for boat lovers and those who enjoy the water.
