Chula Vista Information

Chula Vista is not exactly a group of islands, as you would envision with the name, but rather a neighborhood in South Fort Lauderdale. Located to the northwest of Fort Lauderdale International Airport, this enclave stands beside River Run, Oak River, and Lauderdale West.

The Chula Vista neighborhood is a rather small one, stretching from SW14th Street down to SW 21st Court, then from Fairmont Avenue to SW 28th Avenue. People who live here love the fact that it is quiet, family-friendly, peaceful, and very walkable. Others in the area consider it beautiful, and love the atmosphere, probably because of the many trees in the community that help make it welcoming and homey.

The area also has quite a few amenities that people can enjoy, and these include a park, retail outlets, restaurants, and coffee shops, to mention a few. It is also surrounded by numerous public transportation stops, making it convenient for residents to go to and from the neighborhood.

While located far from the main bodies of water of Fort Lauderdale, a few of the homes here are still considered waterfront homes, and this is because of the few canals that stretch into the neighborhood that are connected to the South Fork New River.

The area itself has quite a few amenities and conveniences nearby that people can enjoy, and this includes a park right in the heart of the enclave.

Apart from these conveniences, people here also have easy access to a few good restaurants. Here are some of the top favorites:

Chula Vista Real Estate

Chula Vista used to be a census designated place in Broward County, but was incorporated into Fort Lauderdale as one of its neighborhoods. This enclave is not as sizable as its neighbors but still has a thriving community consisting of residents with German, Cuban, Irish, Puerto Rican, and British ancestries.

There is an even distribution of renters and homeowners in the area, with those living in the northern part of this enclave being mostly renters while those in the lower half are mostly homeowners. A lot of the homes here are single story homes, although a few multi-family residences have a second floor.

Most of the homes here are single family homes, with multi-unit homes being row houses, townhomes, or multi-bedroom facilities that offer long term rental units.
