Coral Gables Information

Coral Gables is one of the first to adopt the Historical Resources Ordinance, which helped preserve local landmarks and historical buildings. It houses one of three National Landmarks in Miami-Dade County: The Biltmore Hotel. Properties including Venetian Pool, Coral Gables Merrick House, and Coral Gables City Hall are listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Coral Gables residents’ safety is one of the top priorities of the government. The city has a fully accredited Police Department, Class 1 Fire Department, and received the highest Building and Zoning Department rating.

For 26 consecutive years, Coral Gables has been named a “Tree City USA” that provide a complete Parks and Recreation programs in the County.

Transportation throughout the area is by Metrobus. Metrorail stops at Douglas Road and University. The neighborhood also has a free trolley system that runs continuously through Ponce de Leon Boulevard.

In the last three decades, Coral Gables has bolstered its commercial ground. The neighborhood hosts a number of activities for its residents ranging from live music, casual and fine dining, nighttime entertainment, and shopping options.

It has the highest concentration of arts and culture destinations in Miami, including Gallery Walk and GableStage. GableStage brings together local and international artists on stage and is often chosen for southeastern premieres.

Miracle Mile shopping center gives residents a complete tropical shopping experience. Its downtown area is home to specialty stores and international restaurants.
