Brickell Information

The island first came to be in 1896 due to the digging of a 9-foot deep channel at the mouth of the Miami River, which resulted in the creation of two small islands.

The name Claughton Island comes from the name of the real estate investor, Edward N. Claughton Sr., who purchased these two islands. He then combined them into this manmade triangular piece of land that is now a spectacular gated island.

Brickell Key is the ideal choice for people who are looking for a tranquil, scenic, and upscale residential area to move to. Surrounded by water, and with lush greenery as well as walking paths, this is the perfect place for those who want to retire to a peaceful and exclusive haven.

This is also a neighborhood that caters to the needs of those who want close proximity to the financial hub of Miami but want to be separate from it when they are at home.

Everything you could ever want in a resort-like community is right here. You can find condominium buildings that have their own spas, tennis courts, swimming pools, gyms, and many more.

The island also has the usual amenities expected of communities, like restaurants, dry cleaners, salons, and a market place. The surroundings are also ideal for morning jogs since there are paths made especially for this.

The north-eastern part of the island is where most retirees and families with children live, while the south-eastern part is where young professionals and families reside. The island is considered a low traffic area, with high traffic being seen usually only on the road across the channel and the main street, which is Brickell Key Drive.
