Star Island Miami is an exclusive manmade island in South Beach neighborhood located south of Venetian Islands and east of Palm and Hibiscus Islands. The small island is home to luxurious houses built on oversized lots making it one of the most desirable places to live in South Florida.

The Neighborhood

The small island of Star Island Miami is among the manmade islands in South Beach along with Palm Island and Hibiscus Island. It is accessible by land and barrier islands through MacArthur Causeway just outside the gates of Palm Island.

The upscale neighborhood has only 34 properties and is famous for its high-profile residents including Gloria Estefan, Sean Combs, Kanye West and Shaquille O’Neal.

Star Island is also close to South Pointe Park that features lush greenery where residents can go biking and skateboarding against the picturesque background of the Miami Beach. Palm Island Park is also a treat to visit with its secure location that offers beautiful views of the waters.

The park also has tennis courts open for use by everybody. Alice Wainwright Park in Coconut Grove, a park on the bay popular with bikers, runners and picnic goer, is also near the neighborhood of Star Island.

Miami International Airport is a only a 20-minute drive from the neighborhood, while Fort Lauderdale International Airport is about 40 minutes away.

The central business district of Downtown Miami and Brickell are just 5 miles and 6.5 miles away, respectively.

Bal Harbour Shops and its many flagship stores are only less than 30 minutes away, while the vibrant neighborhood of South Beach is only 2 miles or 7 minutes away from Star Island.

Things To Do

Star Island’s central location gives its residents convenient access to South Florida’s hotspots such as Fogo de Chai Miami, Joe’s Stone Crab, Prime 112 and Nikki Beach Club. Prime 112 serves one of the most delectable steaks in the area.

Homes for sale in Star Island are large estates built on oversized lots with a minimum size of 40,000 square feet. At present, there are no Star Island condos built in the community as they want to preserve the tranquility and low-density of the area.

Star Island properties have prices depending on the age and size of homes and range from $17 million to $40 million.

Homes built on dry lots have an average selling price of $1.5 million, while homes with bayfront views, on an average, sell for as much as $17 million.

A 7-bedroom waterfront home with 8 bathrooms built in an interior space of 8,000 square feet usually sells for as much as $40 million, while a 10-bedroom home built on dry lots usually go for $17 million.
